1.2. The Operator uses cookies in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Belarus, including the Law of the Republic of Belarus No. 99-Z “On Personal Data Protection” dated May 7, 2021, and international practice.
1.3. The User’s use of the Site constitutes consent to the use of cookies in accordance with the terms of this Policy, unless the User has made a different choice through the cookie management mechanism or browser settings.
2. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies
2.1. Cookies are small text files that are stored on the User’s device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when visiting the Site and allow recognizing the device during subsequent visits, saving User preferences (e.g., language, font size), speeding up page loading, and collecting Site usage statistics.
2.2. Similar technologies may include pixel tags (web beacons), local browser storage, etc., which perform similar functions in collecting information about the User’s interaction with the Site.
3. Types of Cookies Used
The following categories of cookies may be used on the Site:
Essential (strictly necessary) cookies: These files are necessary for the proper functioning of the Site and the provision of basic services (e.g., page navigation, access to protected sections). Without these cookies, the Site cannot function properly. User consent for the use of essential cookies is not required due to their technical necessity.
Functional cookies: These files allow the Site to remember User choices (e.g., selected language or region) and provide enhanced, more personalized features. They may be used to provide requested services, for example, for viewing videos. Information collected by these cookies is generally anonymized.
Analytical (statistical) cookies: These files help the Operator collect statistics on Site usage, analyze traffic, traffic sources, user behavior, and page popularity. This allows improving the Site’s structure and content and evaluating the effectiveness of marketing activities. Third-party services (e.g., Google Analytics) may be used to collect statistics, which also set their own cookies.
Advertising (marketing) cookies: These files are used to collect information about the User’s browsing habits to display relevant advertising and personalized marketing offers. They may be used by third-party advertising networks to track User activity across different websites.
4. Purposes of Using Cookies
The Operator uses cookies for the following purposes:
Ensuring the technical functioning and security of the Site.
Saving user settings and preferences for ease of use.
Analyzing statistical data on Site usage for its optimization and improvement.
Evaluating the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.
Providing the User with personalized content and marketing offers (subject to appropriate consent).
5. Managing Cookies and Obtaining Consent
5.1. Upon the first visit to the Site, the User is shown a pop-up notification (banner) with information about the use of cookies.
5.2. Obtaining consent:
* The Operator installs essential cookies that do not require consent to ensure the Site’s operation.
* Consent from the User is required to install functional, analytical, and advertising cookies.
* Consent for the use of these cookie categories may be provided:
* By clicking the “Accept All” or “Agree” button in the cookie notification.
* By selecting specific cookie categories via the “Customize” button in the notification.
* Important: Continued use of the Site without active selection (e.g., scrolling the page or clicking a link) after the User has had a reasonable opportunity to review the notification and choice options may also be considered a form of consent within existing practice; however, the most explicit and good-faith approach is active selection via the banner buttons. The Operator recommends Users make explicit choices via the banner.
5.3. Ability to manage and withdraw consent:
* The User may at any time change their choice or withdraw previously given consent for the use of functional, analytical, and advertising cookies through the settings of the cookie management mechanism on the Site (if available after the first visit, e.g., a separate cookie management button) or by changing their browser settings.
* In the settings of most web browsers, the User can:
* Delete previously saved cookie files.
* Block the installation of all types of cookies or only third-party cookies.
* Configure notification before saving a cookie file.
* Detailed instructions for managing cookies in specific browsers are available on their official websites (e.g., Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari, Opera).
* Disabling or prohibiting certain cookie categories (except essential ones) may lead to limited Site functionality or incorrect operation of certain sections.
6. Cookie Storage Period
The storage period for cookies varies and depends on their type:
Session cookies: Stored only while the browser is open and deleted when it is closed.
Persistent cookies: Stored on the User’s device for a period set by the Operator or a third-party service, or until manually deleted by the User.
7. Data Transfer to Third Parties
The Operator may use third-party services (e.g., Google Analytics web analytics systems, contextual advertising services) that use their own cookies and may collect information about Site usage. Data processing by such services is carried out in accordance with their own privacy policies and cookie policies, and based on the User’s consent provided through the cookie management mechanism on the Site. The Operator takes measures to ensure that data transfer is carried out within the framework of the law.
8. Changes to the Policy
The Operator has the right to make changes to this Policy at any time. The current version of the Policy is published on the website uac.by. The User undertakes to independently review the current version of the Policy.
